Course Selection Information

Course selection sheets are due Wednesday, March 12. We simplified the selection process so there is only one band selection. You will be placed in the appropriate ensemble based on the audition in May.

Other Music Courses to Consider

These courses will be on the selection sheets and may or may not make, depending on the number of students who request the courses.

Music Theory

This course begins with the basics of music notation and progresses through the study of harmonic language (chords) and part writing. Ear training is also a part of the course. Want to learn to write music or gain a better understanding of how composition works? This is the course for you.

Music History and Literature

This course begins with the study of the fundamentals of music and progresses through the various style periods in music. Much attention is given to the connection between music and contemporary influences on composers. This course is available for Honors credit at the Junior level.
